Creep through the haunted forest, get some apple cider, and make your way through a corn maze. Happy Halloween!

Anyone who knows me understands that I love Animal Crossing and of course, October’s Halloween event has brought me insurmountable joy. I spent the last month growing and harvesting pumpkins, decorating my island with spooky DIY recipes, and watching the leaves and grass change color during the fall season. Real life in 90-degree California could NEVER! To compensate for the lack of seasons around me, I created an autumnal oasis and festive Halloween wonderland, and I wanted to share some snapshots of my island’s transformation!
Welcome
I gave my entrance a warmer-toned upgrade with pumpkins and orange, yellow, and purple flowers. Can’t forget some candy as visitors come in!
The Pumpkin-Filled Marketplace
My villagers can stroll by fall flowers and pumpkin lanterns as they make their way through the marketplace.
Pumpkin Carving

I’ve never personally carved a pumpkin, which is probably sacrilege, but it’s because I’m allergic! I had to emulate that experience in Animal Crossing and live vicariously through my character.
A Festive Pumpkin Patch
What would my Halloween-themed island be without a pumpkin patch? I think the small touches, like the shovel and wheelbarrow, give such cute character. It’s like I’m really about to pick and harvest a pumpkin!
The Puzzling Corn Maze
I saw this corn maze idea from NintenTalk on YouTube, and I had to try it out for myself! I used yellow hyacinths because they basically look like corn stalks, and the straw fencing and overgrown weeds gave it a more authentic feel. Despite it not being a difficult maze, I love the way this festive activity came to life!
Sipping on Apple Cider by the Orchard
I’ve never been to an apple orchard, but Animal Crossing lets me pretend I have! I just love the thought of picking apples and enjoying some cider along with it. SO CUTE!
Snacking on Pumpkins at the Museum

I definitely had to put some pumpkin touches near the museum, and it seems the T-Rex liked that, too!
Spooky Touches in the Neighborhood
One of my favorite parts of Halloween is seeing how people in my neighborhood decorate the outside of their houses, so adding pumpkins to my villagers’ houses and around their neighborhood was a must.
The Haunted House in the Woods
I tried to make it look like my house is hidden away and shrouded by trees in the woods. It’s like a scary haunted house you’re supposed to avoid, (despite the “Welcome” spider doorplate). I also created a mini pumpkin patch/garden, and I think it tied everything together.
The Haunted Woods
I have a hiking trail and stargazing lookout on my island, but for Halloween, they transformed into some eerie, bone-chilling woods that are certainly haunted by ghosts, (or maybe just Wisp).
I hope you all enjoyed the autumnal and Halloween touches on my island! Happy Halloween! Stay safe tonight!
